How can I help heal my body?
Hydrate your Health and Wellness
- Stay hydrated and lubricated for optimal mental health, gut health, joint health, skin, and hair health, and overall wellness!
- Drink clean water with a balanced amount of natural electrolytes and minerals. Remember balance and all things in moderation is key. Your body needs a balanced ph alkalinity versus acidity in certain instances so don’t go overboard with alkaline water!
- My rule of thumb is to drink half of my body weight in ounces each day, or at least 10 cups of mostly water and some water-based products such as tea.
- I’ve chosen to avoid alcohol, processed sugary drinks, or coffee and instead stick to green teas and herbal beverages when I need caffeine.
Changing my water has transformed my overall wellness.

I know it can be difficult to drink water throughout the day. If you are constantly on the go, the last thing you want to think about is having to stop for water, or better yet stop to use the toilet.
- I find that using a gallon or even a 32 ounce reusable water bottle helps me stay on track with my water goals. I fill up my jug at home before heading out. I am intentional about taking a few sips at the top of the hour if I set a timer. This makes it fun.
- You have to be okay with having to take a potty break, its good news that your kidneys are functioning properly. This is also the body's natural way to get rid of waste. I have grown to embrace this. As a nurse, I recall times I would hold off going to empty my bladder for hours, not realizing this was a strain on my bladder, and the muscles down below. Overtime, this leads to weakness and leakage... who wants to leak pee? Not me, I never hold it too long now, if I got to go, I got to go.
- If I do eat out, I limit drinking tap water, if the restaurant is not serving filtered water, you don't know what you are getting. Tap water sources are usually contaminated with antibiotics, fluoride, chlorine, other chemicals and pollutants that can negatively impact your gut health and microbiome.
- I also ask for lime or lemon which serves as a natural minerlizer and cleanses the water. Both can also stimulate your digestive tract getting it ready for the meal coming.
- Water can get boring, so I add in other beverages such as tea. I love a good organic herbal tea. I do loose leaf options, green tea, flower blends, and I add oat milk to make fun lattes. These are especially good for healing tonics!
I encourage all of my friends, family, and clients to be aware of what they are putting into their bodies and I am sharing this with you!
